Our Organisation's Mission

Our organisation was established with the aim to serve the needs of aspiring basketball players in our communities and to provide them with an experience they will treasure for the rest of their life. Also, we are committed to ensuring that equality is incorporated across all aspects of our organisation which includes developing the confidence of our staff and members.

It is our interest to take our members away from the stresses of everyday life and created an organisation that is enjoyable and inclusive.

We believe that everyone deserves the right to have their potential released, skills to combat the troubles in society and a healthy life style. In doing so, we also look to provide the people within our organisation with a quality experience of the highest standard.

The History of Our Organisation

Waltham Forest Spitfires Basketball Club was founded in 1997 for the purpose of providing a safe space for young adults in the community to acquire quality coaching and play basketball at the highest level.

Back then, Spitfires was seen as the new comer on the block and did not attract the stars of the basketball world. So we decided to develop our players, of which some had experienced ill-treatment and inequality.

It was soon after the formation of the Spitfires Organisation, we began to raise the abilities of our members to an acceptable standard and beyond.

The rest is history.
